Present Yourselves as Tools For Self Development And Nation Building; Prof. Ivara Esu Tells Trainees As He Visits C'River Fabrication Academy


Cross River State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu, yesterday paid an unscheduled visit to the Construction & Fabrication Academy of West Africa in continuation of a tour of selected projects around the state.


The visit by the Deputy Governor is in line with the desire of the present administration to improve human capital development through skills acquisition training. The Deputy Governor who inspected fabrication amenities as well as monitor training sessions, commended progress work so far, while eulogizing management of the institution.


Prof. Esu said the Administration of Senator Ben Ayade is committed to improving skilled labor using the Construction & Fabrication Academy, while imploring trainees to present themselves as tools for self development and nation building.


Some of the training sessions inspected includes welding fabrication, masonry, carpentry, upholstery, modern furniture making, air conditioning works, construction work at the male and female hostels for resource persons and trainees as well as the ultra modern welding and carpentry workshops currently under construction.


Briefing the deputy governor on technical and administrative work so far, Commissioner for Youths Development and Skills Acquisition, Hon. (Signor) Omang Idiege disclosed that fashion design, aluminum glazing and printing are set to join soon, while the rest of the courses will join in the coming weeks as a result of finishing touches there are undergoing.


The deputy governor extolled the principal Consultant of the academy, Dr Solomon Edebiri as well as other stakeholders for working all day round to meet timelines set by the state governor in fulfilment of full functionality of the facility.
