Linda Ayade Holds Prayers For Nigerian With CRS Women

Wife of Cross River State Governor Dr. (Mrs.) Linda Ayade has held the Cross River State version of National Women Prayer Meeting with the women of Cross River State and notable women of God tagged; “CRS Women Prayer for Peace and Security in Nigeria”.

Speaking recently at the premises of Ministry of Women Affairs, Calabar, the venue for the event, the Governor’s wife disclosed that the event is organized by the Nigerian Governors’ Wives Forum (NGWF) in response to the nationwide insecurity problems that have plagued the nation and created hardship for the citizens in Nigeria.

According to her, the NGWF had an agreement, that following the trend of events in Nigeria there is need for them to come together and also go to their respective states, organize the women to pray and raise a cry unto God for his intervention for he is the only one that heal the land and restore peace and security back to Nigeria according to the scriptures in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, hence the reason for the event.

Dr. Ayade expressed appreciation to all the women who responded to the call to come out for the prayers at such a short notice, abandoning their busy schedules, which shows how important the event is. She said that things are really getting desperate, with the enemy also becoming so desperate and lamented the increase in crime rate today which is manifesting in so much wickedness such as; kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, killer herdsmen, cultism, amongst others.

She stated that, it is really disheartening and heart breaking to see the vices going on today in the society and that it behooves on mothers to take these things very seriously for they cannot afford to lose themselves, their values and their society. She stated that “God created a very beautiful world for us to live in and we came in and started destroying the hand work of God, killing ourselves and doing all sorts of things, adding that, there is therefore the need for mothers who are the primary custodians of the precious gifts of children to take up the matter of prayers and the remoulding of the character of their children very seriously, for when a child goes astray, it is the mother that feels the pain and bitterness more.

She said that women are called mothers and fruit bearers and that the prayer of unity in women when they come together to pray is a very strong force that stirs  the grace, mercy and forgiveness of the Almighty God which is the reason why they should always come to their father and cry to him when things go wrong.

The Governor’s wife stated that the prayer programme will be sustained in the state, while calling on women to respond whenever the call is put across to them and solicited for their continued support, as well as thanked all the women who participated in the event, especially the women of God who responded to the call to join CRS women in the prayers.

Dr. Ayade maintained that while they are praying and seeking God’s intervention, they are also calling on decision makers in the country to sit down and take decision to stop the trend of insecurity in the nation.

In the charge and intercessory prayers for Nigeria, against; kidnapping, rise in sodomy, armed robbery, national insecurity, negative consequence of secession; cultism/deviant behaviour by children and prayer of protection for leaders, Pst. They prayed for God’s mercies upon the perpetrators of all the wicked acts, asking for their repentance and to embrace God and shun all forms of vices, as well as prayed for God’s wisdom/protection upon the leaders and restoration of peace/security in the nation and states of the federation.
