Men of the Nigerian army have reportedly shot and kill a youth in Calabar south.
The army personnel are those attached to the Nigerian Correctional Center in Afokang Calabar South.
The deceased identified simply as Greg is from Biakpan in Biased LGA of the State.
It is alledged that a yet to be identified civilian had contacted the army personnel to help settle a relationship issue between his girlfriend and another youth.
” both of them were struggling to get a particular girlfriend. We don’t know what happened, but when the army personnels arrived, they opened fire on the guy after a brief argument and he died at the spot” said a resident.
Calabar south youths had mobilized to storm the Correctional Center but were stopped by elders of the community according to sources.
Several calls sent to the Nigerian Army spokes person, Captain Ochenta were not answered. He did not also reply to an SMS sent to him.
