Armed Forces Day: Ayade honours Warrant Officer, Urges others to emulate Him

As part of activities to commemorate the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade Saturday presented a car gift to Warrant Officer Steven Ekpe. 


The governor also led in the laying of wreath as a mark of honour to the nation's falling heroes.


Governor Ben Ayade who was represented by his deputy, Prof Ivara Esu along side other top government officials said that the Armed forces Remembrance Day was a day to appreciate the efforts of the nation's heroes in the Armed Forces both the living and dead.


He stated that it was not easy for one to put his or her life on the line for anyone, expressing delight that the nation's Armed Forces have always risk their lives to ensure Nigerians live in peace. 





He also called on Nigerians to shun crime and live in unity with one another.


Reacting to the presentation of a Car gift to Army Warrant Officer Steven Ekpe, the Chief of Army Staff represented by the Brigade Commander, Prof Ivara Esu thanked Steven Ekpe for being a quality example to young aspiring Cross River who now emulate him as a symbol of hope. 


The Honourable Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare services, Hon.  Mrs Blessing Egbara while reacting, said that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day  Celebration was a day set aside to show love to our heroes, most importantly the wives and families of our fallen heroes.





She added that "It is never easy for one to lose a loved one and the government will always make sure it supports the wives and families"


She also prayed for peace in Nigeria while applauding the Armed forces for their selfless services to humanity.
