A mammoth crowd of supporters and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, came out in masses to give a rousing welcome to the party’s Leaders in the state H.E, Sen Liyel Imoke, National Assembly Caucus Members led by Sen Gershom Bassey, CRS PDP State Executive Council to the grand finale of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency bye-election campaign.
Addressing the Crowd Sen Liyel Imoke, celebrated the good people of Ogoja /Yala Federal constituency for the courage they have shown in time past in choosing the right leaders and believing in PDP as the only party and the vehicle to have true democracy. Sen Imoke stated that _" Our dear States has always been led by the People's Democratic Party and have seen great impact from the Party, Cross River State is PDP, and PDP in Cross River State." He called on the people to continue to stand for the party and be committed to the upcoming election as this is the only party with developmental ideology. Sen Imoke charged various structures across the traditional rulers, fathers, mothers, and youth to vote PDP, voting PDP is a culture in the state.
Sen Gershom Bassey, in his Speech, charged all Party Faithfuls to vote for the Party which is the people's choice, in his words, " cross river state belongs to all of us. When you finish voting, you protect your vote by staying there to check for the transmission of the result, and follow them to the coalition centre till transparency is achieved as we must win this election ".
He further stated that all Party Faithfuls must stand firm in the quest of restoring our dear State totally for PDP.
Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe also charged the people that there should be very firm at their respective polling unit and ensure all votes count and are protected.
Mr Tony Edokor, State Secretary of the Party who represented the State Party Chairman, Barr Vena Ikem stated that " the upcoming election is a must-win for us, for is a defining battle which PDP must win".
The PDP Candidate for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Hon Mike Usibe assured the people of Ogoja and Yala Federal Constituency of the many benefit the Peoples Democratic Party will offer the Constituency.
