Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong who is the current commissioner for finance had embarked on an initiative to mobilize more members for the APC in the northern senatorial district.

Although he is not a member of the Cross River State Exco of the All Progressives Congress, the itinerary seen by this paper also indicates that Mr. Ekpenyong had scheduled to meet with members of the APC across the state, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, members of security agencies among others.

The unfortunate incident, according to our sources happened as the vehicle was descending the hills of the famous Obudu cattle ranch, in Obanliku local government area of the state.

BHG-InfoDesk gathered that the accident was a result of brake failure in the hummer bus, conveying the press team. While several people sustained various degrees of injury, one person lost his life.

An occupant of the vehicle who pleaded to remain anonymous told our reporter. “The driver in trying to escape falling into the valley had to use the left lane instead of the right. It was in process that he ran into a man riding Okada, unfortunately, the man could not survive”

It was revealed that the team since its arrival had consistently gone up and down the hill with many of the occupants complaining.
