APC Stalwart Commends Sen. Gershom Bassey With A Public Apology For Deriding Comments

Mr Iso Bassey Edim

An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Cross River State, Mr Iso Bassey Edim has tendered an unreserved public apology to Sen. Gershom Bassey after he made deriding comments about the Senator's handling of Cross River State Water Board Limited (CRSWBL). Mr Iso Edim had earlier accused Sen. Gershom Bassey and Ntufam Ekpo Okon for mismanagement of the CRSWBL when they headed the board.

However, after thorough investigation, Mr Edim said he had come to realise that under the watch of Sen. Gershom Bassey the CRSWBL recorded giant strides in the provision of clean pipe borne water to many parts of the state. In fact, Mr Iso Edim said in comparison to how his party, the APC's appointed Chairman is mismanaging the board, Sen. Gershom Bassey and Ntufam Ekpo Okon are indeed Saints whose impact is still felt till date. In consonance with this fact, Citizen Agba Jalingo said, "Before Governor Ayade, Cross River State was a shining example of Urban Water Reticulation, but at the moment, our taps are either dry or dispensing brown water."

To demonstrate his absolute remorse for such erroneous judgment, Mr Iso Bassey Edim wrote on his Facebook page, "Chaiiiiiiiiii I accused Sen. Gershom Bassey and Ntufam Ekpo Okon of mismanagement of Water Board, after my thorough investigation, they are Saints compared to the current (APC) Helms Man in Cross River State Water Board...." He also pleaded that Senator Gershom Bassey and Ntufam Ekpo Okon should forgive him.

Sen. Gershom Bassey as Chairman of CRSWBL attracted numerous World Bank projects to the board which helped to provide steady and clean pipe borne water across the length and breath of Cross River State. It is a fact that the World Bank used Cross River State as a reference point for Management of water. This totally eradicated the outbreak of water borne diseases. Indeed, his success as the Chairman earned him the prestigious award of recognition from the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). As an accomplished Engineer, he is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers (NICE).

A gold fish has no hiding place; the saying goes and Sen. Gershom Bassey's popularity is on the rise. Even the opposition eulogize this benevolent, selfless and humane personage. He is a performer par excellence. Cross River State will get back on track in 2023 with Sen. Gershom Bassey as Governor.
