Akiba made this known to his federal constituency Chapter Executive Members , Akiba in his speeech assured the executive of his desire to bridge the gap between the government and the people, the gap between the old and the new members of our party, to achieve this Akiba said, he will within the first three months of his inauguration, provide for his constituents a *functional* federal constituency office, engage 23 wards assistant legislative aids, drawn from each wards of the federal constituency, effective federal constituency online desk that will promote effective government/people engagement , regular townhall meeting with constituents, stimulate effective economic growth among our party unit structure (PUMC) through establishments of cooperative
He stressed that he is propelled by the overwhelming conviction that he is the most qualified aspirants who knows Calabar Municipality and Odukpani people better, having live in Calabar Municipality, for over 40years, member of so many groups in the municipality, for Odukpani RtHon Akiba, said,, as an indigen of Odukpani Lga and as one who' by the special grace of God has superintended over the affairs of the local government as chairman and member CRSHA, Representing Odukpani, can not be devoid of knowledge of the people and the location of the two local Government that make up the federal constituency
The incoming Federal House representative, Akiba while defining representation, stated that he has what it takes to win the general elections if he emerge the flag bearer of the party.
"Today I present myself as a Bridge with experiences, qualities and capacity to represent the Federal Constituency.
Speaking at the event, APC Chapter Chairmen,Mr Emmanuel Mbora, Calabar Municipality and Odukpani Chapter Mr Edem Anam expressed their support for Bassey Akiba's aspiration, describing him as the best man for the office.
