Hit And Run Trailer Driver Crushes Anambra Motorcyclist To Death

An unidentified hit-and-run driver of a trailer with no registration number has crushed a motorcycle rider to death.

It was gathered that the accident happened on the Ihiala-Owerri Expressway, opposite Basco Hotel late on Sunday.

Three persons were involved in the crash while one person (the motorcycle rider), was killed.

As per an observer report, the driver of the trailer, who was on maximum velocity, let completely go, hit and squashed the motorcyclist to the point of being unrecognizable and didn't stop.

The source said, "A unidentified driver of a trailer with no enlistment number and a Sayang 100 Motorcycle with no enrollment number were associated with a deadly street car accident today July 31, 2022 at around 16:45hrs.

"The reasonable justification of the accident was the deficiency of control because of over the top speed."

As of the hour of filling this report, the Federal Road Safety Corps salvage group from RS5.34 Ihiala, had stuffed the remaining parts of the dead casualty in the body pack and stored it at our Lady of Lourdes morgue, Ihialla, and cleared every one of the deterrents.

The Sector Commander Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, while affirming the episode, sympathized with the group of the dead casualty.

Irelewuyi warned motorists to avoid speeding and ensure they keep to the recommended speed limit.

“Speed drills but kills check your speed and not your watch. Let us keep our road safe from a crash,” he warned.
