ASUU Directs Staff To Stay Home, Opposes University Management As Strike Continues

On Wednesday the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KSUSTA) denied suspending the ongoing national strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities .

The University’s academic secretary, Abdulazeez Salihu, in a circular dated 24th August, 2022, had announced that academic activities will resume in the University.

Meanwhile,  the chairman of ASUU in the State, Comrade Yale Ibrahim stated that no academic staff will resume as announced by the academic secretary of the University until the strike is called off at the national level.

”We want to state here that the University is still on strike and that no academic staff will resume on that date as contained in the letter.” Ibrahim said.

He directed all academic staff to comply by staying at home until the National body of ASUU suspends the strike.

“ASUU, KSUSTA remains firm on their stand to continue with the National strike till further notice,” he said.
