RAMADAN: President Buhari To Muslims - Ramadan Is A Time To Refrain From All Evil And Transgression

The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has on his official twitter handle @Mbuhari admonished Muslim faithfuls to refrain from all evil and transgression as they begin their season of fasting.

He further stated that the activities of traders who increase the prices of their goods, including food at the beginning of every month of Ramadan is exploitative. Adding that it is against the spirit of Islam.

The president also reminded Muslim faithfuls that Allah will multiply their reward for good deeds if they share food and drinks with others.

"As we begin this season of fasting, let us not forget that Ramadan is not only about abstaining from eating and drinking, but it is also a reminder to refrain from all evil and transgressions.

"I am particularly aware of the activities of traders who artificially increase the prices of their goods, including food, at the beginning of every month of Ramadan. This kind of exploitation is against the spirit of Ramadan and the spirit of Islam.

"While we are observing this important occasion in the spiritual life of Muslims, let us endeavour to share food and drinks with the less fortunate, because by sharing our blessings with others, Allah will multiply our rewards for good deeds."
