IPOB Urges Igbo to Stay Away from Nigeria Hardship Protests

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has advised people in the South-East to refrain from participating in the ongoing protests against economic hardship under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, the separatist group emphasized that the Igbo community has grown disinterested in Nigeria and is eagerly awaiting an opportunity to secede.

Powerful cautioned against organizing protests in the southeastern states, warning that such actions could endanger the Igbo people. He stated that the current economic challenges in Nigeria should be handled by Nigerians and not the Biafrans, highlighting the mistreatment and marginalization faced by the Igbo community in Nigerian politics.

The statement reiterated the group's stance on pursuing the freedom of Biafra and advised those interested in protesting against Nigeria's hardship to do so in other parts of the country.

It also emphasized the pressing issues of insecurity, kidnappings, and killings in the region, stating that the focus of the Igbo community should be on addressing these challenges rather than participating in nationwide protests.
