CP Grimah Visits Unical VC, Discusses Proactive Means of Tackling Insecurity in The Campus

The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP G. A. Grimah, PSC, FCAI and the State Security Adviser to the Executive Governor, Cross River State, General Obono Eno Rtd visited the University of Calabar ( UNICAL) today 2nd April 2024.

The trios and management staff had a closed-door meeting centred on the security/safety of the University Community. Proactive strategic measures were put in place aimed at tackling the insecurity in the Campus and its environs.

Recall that three
undergraduates were abducted on the 29th of March, 2024 at the Freedom Hostel, situated at the staff quarters.

The Freedom Hostel is owned by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

An eyewitness said that armed men broke into the hostel silently on March 29, 2024, around 7 p.m., and then took their victims to an unknown destination.
