UNICROSS SUG President Suspended Over Purported Protest

The Senate, 15th Assembly Students Union Government of the University of Cross River State, UNICROSS has suspended the Student Union Government President, Comr. Ogbadim Humphrey Udop.

His suspension was because of a purported protest which happened on the 7th of May, 2024 at the University led by him with the claims of asking why the Vice Chancellor was suspended.

According to a letter by the Governing Council dated 9th May 2024, matters of management are exclusive responsibilities of the management and not under the contemplation of the SUG.

The council also deemed Ogbadim Humphrey's act as a deviation and outright disrespect to the sanctity of the Union which is supposed to remain a non-partisan pressure group focused on student's welfare and interest and not on managerial affairs.

The body also revealed that Ogbadim Humphrey has not held any congress or event since he became the SUG President, but has rather stifled every opportunity for students to communicate their plight to the government.

The letter was signed by The Senate President, Senator Glory Okon, The Deputy Senate President, Senator Odey Sunday A. and The Chief Whip 1, Senator Oboma George
