Engr. Professor Akeke is a well-respected figure in the engineering world. He is a Fellow of both the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers and the Nigerian Society of Engineers. As a Professor of Civil Engineering, he spent years teaching at the Cross River University of Technology, Calabar, where he trained and mentored future engineers. His dedication to education has positively impacted many students who now contribute to society.
After his academic career, Engr. Professor Akeke continued to serve the public by joining the Cross River State Civil Service. He rose to the position of Director of Civil at the Ministry of Works and later became the Permanent Secretary.
