Reflection: “That Law Shall Be Changed” — A Call to Faithfulness and Power - Rev. Victor Emmanuel

Rev. Victor Emmanuel

In a deeply reflective and spiritually stirring message delivered on Sunday, May 4, 2025, Rev. Victor Emmanuel expounded on the theme: “That Law Shall Be Changed,” drawing his text from Daniel 6:8 and 12. The sermon offered a rich reminder of God's supremacy over human and demonic decrees, highlighting the unwavering faithfulness of Daniel and the enduring power of divine authority.

At the heart of Rev. Emmanuel’s message was a contrast between two kinds of laws—those instituted by God and those contrived by the enemy. “The law from God comes with blessings,” he explained. “Anything He says always comes to pass.” In contrast, he described satanic laws as being inherently destructive, leading only to setbacks and discouragement.

Daniel: A Model of Excellence and Faithfulness

Rev. Emmanuel turned to the biblical figure Daniel as a shining example of a believer whose loyalty to God distinguished him, even in a hostile system. “Daniel served God with all sincerity and diligence,” he said, adding that “he was set aside as a solution in his generation because an excellent spirit was bestowed upon him.”

This excellence, the preacher emphasized, did not come from mere human effort, but from divine empowerment. Daniel’s commitment and integrity enabled him to rise above the manipulative laws crafted against him. “God doesn’t joke with as many that are faithful to Him,” Rev. Emmanuel stated. “It is important for every child of God to remain faithful in whatever season they find themselves.”

Temporary Trials, Eternal Promises

In what became a recurring theme, Rev. Emmanuel reminded the congregation that trials and afflictions, no matter how severe, are temporary. “Whatever tribulations that come your way as a child of God is only for a season,” he said. The implication was clear: believers are not exempt from challenges, but those who remain grounded in God’s word will ultimately prevail.

He emphasized that any law contrary to God’s purpose cannot and will not stand. “God is the maker of law, and so any law that is not of the Lord shall never have dominion over the children of God,” he declared with conviction.

Power Beyond Appearances

One of the most piercing observations of the sermon came in Rev. Emmanuel’s critique of the modern Christian experience. He acknowledged the discipline of fasting but warned that it should not be mistaken for a substitute for intimacy with God. “Fasting can help you get the miracles that you require,” he noted, “but long fasting without a relationship with God is useless.”

He lamented that many believers today appear godly outwardly but are spiritually powerless. “In our generation, it seems like miracles are far from us because most Christians do not have a close relationship with God any longer,” he said. “We only look like Christians on the outward but lack the power on the inside.”

Final Exhortation

The message ended not just as a theological reflection, but as a call to action. Rev. Emmanuel urged believers to cultivate inner strength, pursue a vibrant relationship with God, and live with the bold assurance that no ungodly law can override God’s promises.

His words serve as a timely reminder: the authority of God cannot be challenged by temporal systems, and believers who walk in faithfulness will always stand as agents of divine change.
