Arsenal are finalizing the signing of Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon after reaching a full verbal agreement with everyone involved.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on Tuesday, saying, “Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal, here we go! All parties have reached a verbal agreement.”
Romano stated that Sporting accepted Arsenal’s final offer of €63.5 million, plus another €10 million in add-ons.
The striker’s agent reportedly agreed to lower his commission to help make the transfer happen.
Gyökeres will sign a five-year contract with the North London club.
The 27-year-old striker had a strong season in Portugal and was reportedly eager to join Arsenal.
“He only wanted Arsenal,” Romano added.
Now that personal terms are set and talks are complete, this transfer is another big step in Arsenal’s busy summer signings.
