IKOM, August 2025 – The Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Hon. Pst. (Mrs) Mercy Nsor, has made history by signing into law the 2025 Appropriation Bill worth ₦10,065,090,483.00 — making Ikom the first LGA in the state to achieve this milestone.
According to the budget breakdown, Recurrent Expenditure is set at ₦4,538,874,851.00, while Capital Expenditure totals ₦5,526,215,631.00.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Hon. Nsor commended the Legislature for its dedication and collaboration. She assured residents that the partnership between the Executive and Legislature would continue to deliver projects aligned with the budget’s objectives for the benefit of the people of Ikom.
The Leader of Council, Hon. Moyo Efale, praised the Chairman for her “speed, hard work, and the harmonious working relationship” that has defined governance in the LGA.
This landmark achievement reflects the Chairman’s commitment to good governance and effective budget management, setting a benchmark for other local governments in the state. The people of Ikom now look forward to the implementation of the budget, with hopes of improved living standards and infrastructure development.
