Calabar, Cross River State — The Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State on Nursing, Mr. Coco-Bassey Esu, has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to His Excellency, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Otu, as he celebrates his 66th birthday.
Mr. Esu described the occasion as a moment to reflect on a life marked by dedication, strong leadership, and lasting impact on the people of Cross River State. “This milestone is not just a personal celebration, but a tribute to a governor who has transformed healthcare and nursing education in our state,” he said.
Under Governor Otu’s administration, significant strides have been made in the health sector. The Colleges of Nursing Sciences have received full funding for accreditation, ensuring they meet national standards and produce qualified professionals. Nurses and other health workers have benefited from new employment opportunities and promotions, recognising their vital contributions to public service.
Mr. Esu highlighted reforms in nursing education and training aimed at strengthening the quality of care and building a skilled workforce. These efforts, he noted, are equipping nurses with the knowledge and confidence to serve both within Cross River and across Nigeria.
The administration has also supported institutions through practical measures, including the donation of buses to nursing colleges, which improves mobility and enhances the learning experience for students. Efforts have also been made to ensure stability and continuity in educational institutions, creating a secure environment for teaching and growth.
