Cross River State Scouts Set to Host Historic 2025 Cross River State Camping and End-of-Year Get-Together in Calabar

In a landmark event that promises to be the first of its kind in history, the Scout Association of Nigeria, Cross River State Scout Council, has announced its forthcoming Cross-State Camping and End-of-Year Get-Together a grand celebration of scouting unity, leadership, and adventure.

The event, themed Calabar 2025: First in History,” will bring together scouts, leaders, and enthusiasts from across Cross River State for five days of engaging activities, learning, and camaraderie. Scheduled to take place from Wednesday, 17th December to Sunday, 21st December 2025, the gathering will be hosted at Pereka Model High School, located at No. 80 Atimbo Road, opposite Arab Junction, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.

Participants are expected to arrive by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, 17th December, ready to kick off an inspiring programme filled with hands-on training, outdoor challenges, and leadership-building exercises all within the true spirit of scouting.

With a modest participation fee of ₦5,000, the event aims to make scouting experiences accessible to all while fostering the values of teamwork, discipline, and service to the community.

According to the State Scout Commissioner and Chief Host, Prince B. Wonah (ALT), the 2025 camping event represents a milestone in the state’s scouting history a chance for young scouts to bond, learn new survival and leadership skills, and celebrate the achievements of the year.

The Cross-State Camping and End-of-Year Get-Together will also feature inter-patrol competitions, leadership sessions, and social activities designed to unite scouts across different local councils. It is not just a camp, it is a platform for nurturing the next generation of responsible citizens and community leaders.

Scouting in Cross River has long been known for its commitment to youth empowerment, and this event will further cement that legacy.
