The world today is full of rising inhumane activities to vulnerable children across the globe. Ranging from forceful street hawking to rape and other societal actions against the right of the children.
The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the ministry of women’s affairs on 19th November, 2020 flagged off a 2 day programme to commemorate this year's children's day with the theme ‘‘A Global day of action for children by children’’.
Speaking at the event which was held in Calabar the chief of UNICEF Enugu chapter Dr. Ibrahim Kofi represented by a child protection specialist Victor Atuchukwu, in his opening remarks stated that the objective of the celebration is to promote international togetherness amongst children worldwide.
Also at the event, the commissioner for women Affairs Hon. Rita Agbo urged children to speak up their minds on ideas of a better world promising to take the young suggestions to the state governor.
The event was also graced with the presence of the executive marketing director FAD FM, Mrs. Temitope Duker and Dr. Eramus Onyeisi amongst other officials.
