Covid-19 Vaccine: Cross River State To Receive Covid-19 Vaccine From Monday


States to receive COVID-19 Vaccines from Monday. As National Chairman Commends all Commissioners for Health in Nigeria for the exceptional work done to curtail the spread of COVID-19 one year on!


The long awaited COVID-19 Vaccines have arrived the country with frontline health workers in Abuja already taking the AstraZeneca Vaccines. The President, Vice President as well as other strategic Leaders are expected to take theirs on Saturday the 6th of March 2021.


To improve on preparation for the vaccines, the Federal Government (2 Ministers For Health; ED NPHCDA, DG NCDC, PTF etc) held over 8 hours of discussions with commissioners of Health in 36 states on the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to states, security of vaccines and equity in administration.


At the meeting it was agreed that frontline Health workers are to be priotised along side strategic stakeholders. A lot of work is to be put into capacity training of Health workers to administer and manage the vaccine logistics, storage, campaigns, risk communication, registration and management of the vaccine at all Levels.


Vaccines will get to states by Monday (not anticipating any last minute logistic delays)


Fact Check: Cross River state is ready to receive its share of vaccines based on number of health workers and strategic stakeholders. training of health workers presently on going, cold chain equipment inspected and tested, media risk communication ongoing, e-registration for health workers ongoing.
