Nigerian Army, DPR Seeks Strategic Partnership


The Nigerian army has assured the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, of adequate protection of the nation's oil facilities in Cross River State.

The commander, 13 Brigade, of the Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. M. A Abdulahi, stated this in Calabar when the new Operations Controller, Calabar field office, Mr. George Ene-Ita, paid him a courtesy visit in his office. The commander who acknowledged the oil sector as a vital component of the nation's economy maintained that the sector shouldn't be compromised.

Earlier, George Ene-Ita, the new Operations Controller, Calabar field office, said the visit was part of DPR's cooperate objective with their strategic partners in the security sector to curb any form of sabotage of oil and gas installations and facilities in the state. 


Mr. Ene-Ita who also used the opportunity to inform Cross Riverians of adequate supply of PMS and other petroleum products in the state, said there was enough petroleum products at the Calabar depot that will be enough to sustain the state and as such, Cross Riverians should avoid panic buying.
