JUST IN: Gov. Ayade Presents N276 Billion Budget Of “Conjugated Agglutination” For the Year 2022



The Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade has presented for consideration, the 2022 appropriation budget estimate to the Cross River State house of assembly in Calabar.

Governor Ayade while presenting a budget size of N276billion on Friday said that the 2022 budget was lower than others because it is intended to focus on existing projects and not new ones.

The budget has the title budget of "Conjugated Agglutination". The governor said the budget was aimed at “crystalizing all other budgets into one”.

According to Governor Ayade, the budget attempts to “marry certainties with reality”

He further explained that out of the N276 billion, the governor said N100 billion will be for recurrent expenditure, while N170 billion is budgeted for capital expenditure.

Governor Ayade who also hunted about his plans to set aside between N30 million and N50 million naira every month to settle pensions and gratuity requested the support of the house for speedy approval.

Meanwhile, the governor has also said that his dream is that all retirees get their gratuity and pensions because someday everyone will grow old “I dream that all retirees get their gratuity and pensions because someday, we all will grow old” He said.

It was also observed that the members of the house of Assembly who refused to defect to the All Progressives Congress alongside the governor were conspicuously absent at the budget presentation.
