Recently, distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey, a frontline aspirant for the Governorship of Cross River State embarked on an inspection exercise to Odukpani Local Government Area where he facilitated the erection of an 80-bed Hospital in Okoyong Okurikang community. The mega facility is one of the Senator's sincere efforts to enhance healthcare services for the people of Odukpani.
The incoming Governor was warmly received by the erstwhile State Chairman of the PDP, Ntufam Ekpo Okon who lauded with joy and gladness, the developmental strides of the Distinguished Senator. He thanked him exceedingly for being so thoughtful to facilitate this mega and quintessential structure in Odukpani Local Government Area.

The erstwhile Party Chairman, at the meeting, also applauded the incoming Governor for several road construction projects he has been embarking on in the Local Government, ranging from Ikot Uduak, Ikot Essien roads, just to mention but a few.
He seized the veritable moment in time to also reassure Sen. Gershom Bassey of his unalloyed, unflinching and irrevocable support for his gubernatorial aspiration, saying that the state is in dire need of a leader like Sen. Gershom Bassey and as a Statesman, he believes in his capacity.
Residents of Odukpani Local Government Area came en masse and showered encomiums and words of prayer on the Distinguished Senator. They also assured him of the votes of the entire Odukpani Local Government Area. Residents also expressed confidence that he will keep doing more for them.
