Frontline gubernatorial aspirant and Senator representing the good people of Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey was earlier today cleared by the PDP Governorship Screening Committee to contest the Governorship elections in Cross River State.
The Screening Committee, sitting at the PDP zonal headquarters in Port Harcourt, and headed by the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Douye Diri cleared and certified Sen. Gershom Bassey qualified to stand for election in the forthcoming PDP gubernatorial primaries.
Addressing a world press conference after the screening exercise, Sen. Gershom Bassey thanked the committee for the clearance. He reeled out a 5 points agenda which he promised will position the state again as Destination CRS. The five points covers the following critical areas:
1. Prioritizing peace and security.
2. Economic restoration and development.
3. Effective and inclusive Governance.
4. Education/Health,Youth development and social inclusion.
5. Tourism.
He also assured the Press that he has the goodwill of the people of Cross River State to win the election across all the 18 LGAs of the state.
