Oladipupo Siwajuola, a student of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, who was earlier declared missing by his mother, has been found.
His mother, Mrs. Fijabi Oyindamola Omotayo, announced the development on Saturday via a Facebook post, simply stating, “My son has been found.” The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and recovery remain unclear at the time of filing this report.
The Director of Marketing and Communications at Babcock University, Dr. Joshua Suleiman, confirmed the news in a message to our correspondent on Sunday. “Yes, we are aware,” he said in a brief WhatsApp response.
Earlier on Saturday, Mrs. Omotayo had made an emotional appeal during a live broadcast on Facebook, calling on the public and security agencies for help in locating her son. According to her, she dropped him off at the university campus on the evening of Sunday, April 27, but had been unable to reach him for days.
She said, “The members of the public should please help tell Babcock University to produce my son. I dropped him off at the school by myself on Sunday evening, but for the past three days, I have not been able to sleep as I cannot find my son.”
While confirmation of the student’s recovery has brought relief, further information about his whereabouts during the period he was missing has not yet been disclosed.
