A 92-year-old man, Ryland Headley, was on Monday convicted by a UK court for the rape and murder of a 75-year-old woman nearly six decades ago, marking one of the country’s longest-running cold cases to reach a conclusion.
Headley was found guilty of attacking Louisa Dunne in June 1967 after breaking into her home in Bristol, southwest England. He was 34 years old at the time of the crime.
The conviction comes more than half a century after the brutal incident, offering long-awaited justice in a case that had remained unsolved for generations.
