The Nigerian women’s beach volleyball team has secured qualification for the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championship scheduled to take place in Adelaide, Australia, from November 14 to 23.

Nigeria clinched the qualification after the duo of Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa defeated Egypt 2-1 (21-14, 20-22, 15-9) to place third at the just-concluded CAVB Continental Championship in Morocco.

Head Coach of the team, Kayode Ajilore, expressed pride in the players’ performance, describing it as a product of determination and teamwork. He said the victory was a clear demonstration of their class and brilliance.

“This result in Morocco is a testimony to the hard work and resilience of the entire team,” Ajilore told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Ajilore also acknowledged the contribution of Musa Nimrod, President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, for providing opportunities for the team to thrive.

“I want to give glory to God for crowning our little efforts with success. The players have shown the world that winning silver at the African Games was no fluke,” he said.

He further appreciated the support from the Nigeria Volleyball Federation board and lauded the presence of Nigeria Customs Service Sports Secretary, Samuel Onikeku, for his financial and moral support during the competition.

“Onikeku’s presence boosted the team’s morale throughout the championship. We are deeply grateful for his commitment,” Ajilore added.
