Ogun Police Dismantle Criminal Networks, Arrest Six Suspects in Coordinated Operations

The Ogun State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities across the state, leading to the arrest of six suspects linked to various offences, including armed robbery, burglary, theft, conspiracy, and activities capable of disturbing public peace. The arrests were made during a series of intelligence-led operations conducted in different parts of the state.

According to the police, the coordinated raids were carried out by operatives attached to the Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba, and Agbado divisions as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and improve public safety. The operations targeted individuals suspected of involvement in organised criminal activities within affected communities.

Among those arrested were suspects allegedly connected to an armed robbery incident in the Alasia area of Sango-Ota. Police recovered a locally fabricated firearm and an expended cartridge during the operation, while efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the gang believed to be on the run.

In a separate operation in the Owode-Egba axis, detectives apprehended a suspect over allegations of housebreaking and theft. Preliminary investigations reportedly linked the individual to a series of burglary incidents in residential estates where cash, household appliances, and other valuables were stolen.

Police also intercepted two other suspects allegedly attempting to dispose of stolen electrical appliances taken from a residential property. The stolen items were recovered, while investigators continued efforts to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in related criminal activities.

Another suspect was arrested in the Agbado area for allegedly threatening violence and causing public disturbance around a school environment. Officers recovered a knife from the suspect during the arrest, preventing what authorities described as a potential breakdown of law and order.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers involved in the operations for their swift response and professionalism. He also acknowledged the role of residents whose timely information assisted law enforcement agencies in carrying out the successful raids.

Police authorities reiterated their commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at combating crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state. The command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information that could assist security agencies in identifying and apprehending criminal elements.

The arrested suspects remain in police custody and are undergoing further investigation, after which they are expected to face prosecution in accordance with the law.
