A serious motor accident involving three vehicles; a Mercedes-Benz, a Toyota Previa and a commercial minibus occurred at the popular Lemna Junction at approximately 3:00 p.m. today, drawing a large crowd of onlookers to the scene.

The incident caused significant concern among residents and road users, with eyewitnesses offering varying accounts of what transpired before the collision.

Several witnesses claimed that the Mercedes-Benz was travelling at a very high speed moments before the crash. During inquiries at the scene, it was gathered that a commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as an okada rider, was inside the Mercedes-Benz at the time of the accident.

According to the motorcyclist, he had met two young men near Technical Roundabout shortly before the incident. He alleged that they persuaded him to join them in the vehicle with the promise of payment in exchange for recording a video of their drive.

The rider said he initially agreed to the arrangement, believing it was harmless. However, he became increasingly uneasy when he noticed the driver accelerating beyond what he considered to be a safe speed.

"I repeatedly asked the driver to slow down, but my warnings were ignored," he reportedly told our reporter.

He further alleged that he became alarmed when the driver appeared to steer deliberately towards the roadside gutter.

Speaking in Pidgin English, he said:

"These guys been wan use me plus-up, I been think say they been just want make I video them for paparazzi oh."

The rider claimed he feared the occupants intended to drive the vehicle into the gutter and believed he would have been the only casualty had events unfolded differently. However, these allegations have not been independently verified.

Reactions at the scene were divided. While some residents expressed support for the motorcyclist's account, others urged caution against drawing premature conclusions.

One eyewitness remarked:

"It could have just been an accident and nothing more."

Others, however, questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident, pointing to what they described as the occupants' willingness to immediately accept responsibility for the damage caused. They argued that the sequence of events appeared unusual, although no evidence has been presented to substantiate claims of deliberate intent.

As of the time of filing this report, the identities of those involved had not been officially released, and there was no immediate statement from the relevant authorities regarding the cause of the accident or whether any arrests had been made.

Investigations are expected to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
