(An Allegory)

AND THEY WERE JOINED AS ONE
SHE TO SUBMIT, HE TO BE LORD.

He came back home from a long journey, anxious to meet his family. How much he missed them and longed to behold their faces and feel their touch again. His wife came out to meet him with so much love in her eyes and she was locked in his embrace.

"Our love is renewed with more beauty and charmI say again 'I do' to love and keep you from harm," He said to her sweetly and recalled when they were joined in marriage. Then he showed her three flowers he bought to plant in the house, "Daddy", three children called out as they ran towards the man and his wife, "my little darlings, I love you so much and I've missed you all. I brought us a present, beautiful flower to plant around the house."
"Wow, they're pretty," said the youngest child. His mother came out to meet them and they had a family hug. Then he kissed each child on the head and left them with his mother, their grandma.

AND JOURNEY TOGETHER IN LOVE
TO PART IN DEATH AND MEET THE LORD

He:
"Take my hand my love
Let me hold and lead you on
Like when we started off
As a couple to be lifelong"
She:
"Gladly I will and even fall into your arms
Sweetly, together we'll walk and prance
On the path where two hearts beat as one
Our destinies are joined forever from now on"
They started out together for a stroll around town. Their hands were interlocked and occasionally she laid her head on his shoulder. They found a concrete bench along the way and sat down, then looked into each other's eyes.
He:
My love is like daisies with glory of white and a golden heart.
Like the roses with many layers of beauty that, should one peel off the outer one he would still find beauty undying within.
Like the green plants that glow under the sun's rays.
She:
My love is like a castle made of stone strong to protect the one that dwells within and is warm and beautifully carved within.
Like a royal bed, soft and comfortable yet will not break when his beloved lies on top. Like the apple sweet to my taste and health to my bones.

WITH FRUITS OF THE WOMB, THE TENDER OFFSPRINGS UNDER THEIR CARE, NURTURED AND GROWING.

As they were lost in insight and love he brought out money and gave it to her while his hand softly caressed her cheek and he kissed her fair forehead. Then he turned to admire the landscape, while she bought three apples from a vendor that passed by. As he turned to her, he saw her with the fruits in her hands and she was smiling, "I bought it with the money you gave me, for our three children my love."
He:
In loving I loved her
And made her mother of my children
She was my beloved wife
Keeper of my house
Builder of my home.

BUT HER HEART WAS TURNED FROM HIM TO MANY LOVERS WITH WHOM SHE TRIMMED

They walked on and met a group of men singing and dancing and they caught her attention while he cared not for their show. She immediately left him and started going towards them making little dancing steps. Then she danced the more and spun round each of them until she mistakenly kicked a leg and suddenly her hair was dragged from behind    "Let her go now."  Her husband said as he stayed the man's hand.   "She hit me, this slut, she must pay."     "How much?"  "15 pieces of silver."  "Take that and let her go. And I am her husband, she's no slut, she's my wife." He said handing over 15 pieces of silver for his wife.
Living on earth, it is like the sea's unrest with rising waves and persistent winds of test raging against your boat in which you sailyou must be ready to fight and strong to prevail.
And when two are joined in holy matrimony, they must be one, to move against the tides.
That they may stand despite arrows from all sides, together until death's cold grasp do them part.
Faithfully loving, persisting, and forgiving from the heart.
May we not lay with gods and idols, forsaking our husband, God, who is Love.
May we be faithful to worship and exalt
Only HIM, the Light, Life's Fountain and Truth.

THOUGH HE ACHED WITH HURT AND PAIN, HIS LOVE FOR HER TO ALL WAS PLAIN

By now she was sobbing quietly and he quickly pulled her to himself embracing her and gently pressing her head against his chest and said "I love you. And I forgive you."    This is what Jesus did and He is still doing it for every one of us. WE ARE HIS BRIDE!
