ABOVE PRINCIPALITIES AND POWER BY REV. JOSEPH AJOR (PH.D)

Rev. Joseph Ajor

Text: Ephesians 1:18-23, 2:1-7
Above principalities and powers; this is where we belong. Before every victory, there is a cross (Galatians 3:13). The cross is a shame and defeat, it was cursed, and any man hanged on the cross was a failure until Jesus came.

The weakness of man could not scale the cross, yet on it the sins of all men was nailed. Despite the insult and abuse, he promised that his stripes will be for our healing.

All he fed and healed were never there for him. We feel disappointed when people mock and criticize us. See it as a cross you have to overcome. Imagine what would have befallen man if Jesus had abandoned the cross and left us unredeemed.

We cannot bring God down to see things in our own way, rather we are to worship him because he alone can deliver us.

A man like Paul who went through different persecutions and challenges, yet he said “we are more than conqueror. You will overcome in Jesus name! Jesus completed the work when he said it is finished, we are recruited to fight the devil, Jesus did it all on the cross for us. Therefore, the thing that keeps you helpless has been overcome in Jesus name.

What we need to stay above principalities and powers:

1. We have the role of faith: believe what Christ has done, there is no limitation with God.

2. Believe that the word of God is true; it is not your word that does the miracle but the word of God. Paul said “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”

3. Develop confidence in God; Paul said “we are more than conqueror” when he was in the prison and having trouble on every side, that was to make the devil angrier.

Some make name for the devil by crying and weeping in difficult times. We are above principalities and powers, which is where God placed us. Make the devil sad today, do not allow him rejoice over you.

Know the word of God, study it and forsake not the gathering of the brethren.

Live right; faith plus action equals victory.

We are more than conqueror in Christ.
