The United States has extended heartfelt congratulations to Nigeria as the country marks its 65th Independence Anniversary on 1 October 2025.

In a press statement released by the U.S. Department of State, Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised Nigeria’s resilience and leadership over the past six decades. He described the West African nation as a beacon of strength and progress, noting the importance of the longstanding partnership between the countries.
